I've studied both, and i have to say i think it's a wash. they both have their hard parts and easy parts. german: -consistent phonetic sounds makes it very easy to pronounce -extremely formal grammar that requires a lot of memorization of endings.... French is certainly one of the easier languages to learn as it shares a lot of the english vocabulary, i don’t understand german/french/italian.. French vs german vs spanish? difficulty & usefulness but i heard that spanish is fast becoming an important language to learn. much easier than german's and. Pick whichever one you think sounds the best, or whichever culture you like the most. if you want to pick one completely randomly, i'd say french is slightly less discouraging..
