Hello. i'd really like to know how to learn german. i mean, go beyond the question: i'd like to know where to learn, any websites, academies, people, anything.. An aunt and uncle of mine speak german so i thought learning german might help me interact with them better and not feel left out when they're having conversations among themselves, but spanish is more useful, spoken by much more people and also easier because of its orthography in which if you write tokyo, you read it as tokyo and not london.. At university which language should i study and why? i really like these two languages and am already quite good at french. which is easier? which is more beneficial (for business or an employer, etc)?.
I am tossing up between learning russian or german first. i want to learn german so i can talk to my friend in german but i would also like to learn russian as my family is from russia.. Hey, i'm a really explorative guy, and i love learning new things and exploring 'different' cultures. i'm learning german on and off... I'm a grad student in history and decided to start learning the german language on my own. how long will it take (educated guess), and how much time should i dedicate a week, to learn the language fluently?.
